What we do

Create a vibrant and connected community

We've been at the heart of our community for 500 years.

Our grants provide around £1million of support to local schools, charities and community groups every year

Our Impact

Our grants help thousands of people who choose to live, work or study in our town. We support vital counselling and hospice services, activities for young people, social groups helping to combat loneliness and isolation and give annual grants to our local college and schools.

Our green spaces provide an opportunity to grow produce at our allotments and get closer to nature at Rowley Fields and Stratford-upon-Avon Local Nature Reserve.

We provide a summer programme of free bandstand concerts and there's lots going on for the local community at our Community Hub. At Rother Street Arts House we're proud to subsidise a packed programme of community activities for every generation.

Stratford Youth Collective is going from strength to strength, as a youth-led charity we have developed and grown fuelled by the needs and ideas of local young people.

Bringing basketball to town

The Hawks Foundation (trading as Warwickshire Hawks Basketball Club) provides basketball training to over 250 male and female players across 15 different teams, ranging from 6-18 years and their men’s team. They also arrange mini schools’ tournaments for primary and secondary school pupils running alongside their school PE lessons.

Providing a Lifeline

We awarded funding to VASA to help them undertake a strategic review. Within Stratford town, VASA works with almost 100 volunteer drivers who help to transport people to medical appointments and social inclusion groups.

Like I Care

We provided funding for The RSC's Like I Care project - inspired by the themes of care within the RSC production of My Neighbour Totoro, they worked in partnership with Stratford Young Carers to deliver an ambitious digital engagement project highlighting the lived experiences of young carers.

Hardship grants

Stratford Town Trust hardship grants

We provide hardship grants for individuals through Citizens Advice South Warwickshire, (CASW). These grants can be used to pay for small, one-off items such as bedding, furniture, clothing, heating appliances and white goods such as microwaves and fridges and can make a huge difference to people who find themselves in challenging financial situations due to difficult circumstances.

Training and skills programmes for those aged 16 to 24

When New Meaning Training chose to set up in Stratford-upon-Avon, it brought new opportunities for young people who aren’t necessarily ‘school-shaped’
