We're joining forces with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and Stratford-upon-Avon Library for the return of the annual Fun Palace. The event is part of Fun Palaces 2023, a free, nationwide celebration of arts and culture.
We have exciting events happening throughout the day at the Crowne Plaza alongside stalls with crafts, activities and information, all run by local groups.
Join in, share your skills, make friends, learn how to handle tools, beat a drum, sing, create a harvest rag wreath or a spooky Halloween decoration, or just sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the company.
The event is suitable for all ages and participants can collect stamps at any of the locations to receive free refreshments kindly provided by the Crowne Plaza. The trail is designed to allow people to drop in at any time and visit one location or all, though sessions at Stratford-upon-Avon Library are run at specific times throughout the day.
Some of the brilliant activities from partner organisations include:
- Magical Story Writing workshop inspired by RSC winter shows, Box of Delights and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Waterside
- Print making, writing with a quill and create your own friendship bracelet to take home at the top of Henley Street, near the entrance to Shakespeare’s Birthplace, delivered by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
- Shakespeare readings, poetry, digital music making and children’s activities at Stratford-upon-Avon Library, Henley Street
