Stratford Town Trust today announced £154,741 in funding for nine small and medium-sized projects for organisations working to improve quality of life as part of its latest funding round. These are the first grant awards as part of the Trust’s new approach to grant-giving, with larger and multi-year awards to be announced towards the end of May 2018.
Successful awards were made to the following:-
The Parenting Project will receive £37,966 to deliver one-to-one counselling and workshops which will improve the wellbeing of parents and/or children in Stratford.
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust – Charitable Fund were awarded £25,000 towards a new Midwifery Led Unit, which will offer a more homely environment with access to state of the art technology for expectant parents. This will mean women and their families will have a less medical interventions and more positive birthing experiences.
Central England Lip Reading Support Group are to benefit from £6,000 to support people with hearing loss to become free of isolation.
Counselling provision in the town will be enhanced by; New Hope Counselling who have been awarded £5,750to help recruit additional volunteer counsellors, and, Time4Hope whose award of £14,900 will go towards providing support to parents of children with severe, complex and limiting conditions.
Pupils at Stratford Upon Avon Primary School will benefit from new outdoor play and learning facilities with their award of £25,000.
Warwickshire Search and Rescue were awarded £2,000 to support a volunteer led search and rescue service across Warwickshire.
Residents who use Stratford Upon Avon Sports Club will benefit from the buildings improved flood resistance following their award of £24,125
SMC (2016) Ltd will receive £14,000 help run a local music centre which provides high quality music tuition to students of all ages and abilities.
These organisations support the Trusts priority areas which seeks to fund projects which aim to;

- Reduce Loneliness and Social Isolation
- Protect and Support Vulnerable Communities
- Develop Community Capacity and Resilience
- Provide Support During a Time of Crisis
