“What a lovely thing a rose is!” – a quote from Arthur Conan Doyle. This climbing rose, Zepherine Drouin, is just part of the wonderful display of plants and flowers in the garden at the Nicol Ward at Stratford Hospital which benefits patients, their visitors and staff.
All this is made possible by the hard work of the Soroptimists International of Stratford-upon-Avon and District and a small Fast Track grant from the Town Trust.
A team of volunteers from the Soroptimists work all year round to provide this wonderful facility which is greatly appreciated by everyone at the hospital.
Christine Boylan, one of the volunteers said; “Thank you for the support of Stratford Town Trust, it makes it possible for us to maintain the garden for the enjoyment of patients, staff and visitors. “
The Town Trust is proud to support this project which is a wonderful example of the benefits of volunteering.
