Over the next couple of months, until March 2021 Tara will be working with Stratford Town Trust on three community-based projects which aim to keep people connected in this difficult time. She has a background in arts, so is keen to include creativity and fun in these projects wherever possible, but also wants these projects to serve real needs in the community. More details on each project below:
Veg Drops
The Veg Drop scheme will collect surplus vegetables from Stratford allotments and community gardens and make them available for clients of the Stratford Foodbank. The first veg drop session at the foodbank will be on the evening of Thursday 25th February. The idea is to supplement the amazing, core offer of the Foodbank with fresh & seasonal fruit, veg & herbs. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the delivery of this scheme, especially those who can drive, if you’re interested or would like to know more, please get in touch with Tara!
Online Skill Share
The Online Skill Share will be a fun and relaxed series of 4 online sessions through March, hosted by young people for those aged 50+ who are looking to enhance their online skills. We will cover topics such as getting more out of video calling and connecting with online communities. We are still looking for both young people aged 16-25 to host and people aged 50+ to take part so please get in touch if you think you could benefit from this programme.
Big Art Project
We will be working with an artist to paint a mural outside Foundation House which will be the backdrop to the new Sensory Garden! We will soon be asking Stratfordians of all ages to submit images to us for the artist to include in their mural. Watch this space for more details…
