PUPILS at St. Gregory’s School are enjoying a brand new Key Stage 1 playground thanks to a £25,000 grant from Stratford Town Trust. The entire infant area has been transformed into an artificial-grass-covered adventure playground ready for imaginations to run wild.

A new cycle track and challenging wooden climbing frame complement the pre-existing trim trail, ensuring that there is no shortage of opportunities for pupils to get active. Role play areas include a den-making stage, a wigwam and Plank People characters. The Plank People were designed and created by Year 6, and now brighten up the Key Stage 1 Garden.

St. Gregory’s PTA have funded the remainder of the project.

Jane McNally, Headteacher at St. Gregory’s School said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the results of this project. The new playground has completely transformed the area which was no longer fit for purpose. The different sections of the playground allow the children to challenge themselves in a variety of ways whilst making friends and having fun.  We are very grateful to Stratford Town Trust and the school’s PTA for enabling this project to take place.”
