FOUNDATION House in Stratford is throwing open its doors on Sunday 6th October to become a Fun Palace for the day! The event is free and there will be activities for all. Some of the highlights are learning how to be a radio DJ, jumping on the arts bus with Escape Arts, becoming a secret agent by learning morse code and lots more including drama, games, woodwork and a visit from the Fire Service.
The event is part of an international weekend of activities that aim to bring the community together through arts, science, crafts and technology. Every year, Fun Palaces have a weekend of action in October when local people share their skills and enthusiasm to give others a chance to try something new.
Fran Donnelly, Community Hub Manager at Foundation House said: “We’re excited to welcome young and old to this special event and encourage people to have a go at being creative, trying something new and most importantly, having fun!”
Sara Aspley, Chief Executive at Stratford Town Trust said: “This a chance for the whole community to come together and explore their creative side in a relaxed and welcoming space whilst having a great time.”
There’s no need to book for any of the activities and everything is free. The event takes place from 11am to 3pm at Foundation House, 144, Masons Road, Stratford upon Avon, CV37 9NF. For more information visit the Fun Palace website.
