FINDING ways to entertain the children for free over the long summer holidays can often be a challenge. This summer, we have funded Kate’s Storytree to provide a summer full of stories for families to enjoy. There will be storytelling, a chance to play and also the opportunity to help weave a rainbow which will grow throughout the summer.
Sessions take place at the Bandstand on the Recreation Ground between 10am-12pm on Saturdays and so far have been a great success. Comments from families who have already taken part include:
“Storytree sessions for me are a very special time to connect with my little ones at their level. Kate provides the perfect setting and tools to allow their imaginations to grow while they create pieces of art and begin to develop their own little stories.”
and:
“My son loves playing at the bandstand and exploring his surroundings. Kate is so engaging that he never wants to leave! I always look forward to the summer of Storytree as I know I can relax while my family soak up the colourful vibes in a friendly environment.”
Each child will collect their own book in which to capture their story which have been provided by Own Books.
There are only two remaining sessions to be held on Saturday 17th and Saturday 31st August so if you haven’t been able to attend yet, don’t miss out! Sessions are free, suitable for all ages and you can drop in between 10am-12pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
